A Glow Day classroom transformation is a great way to get your students excited and engaged in their learning. There are so many fun glow day classroom games that can be played in small groups. I’ve included some easy games below. With each game, I’ve listed the materials and tips for set-up. Amazon links are included for easy shopping.
First things first, supplies!
Two items that are very versatile for games are blacklight tape and glow necklaces/bracelets. These cheap items can be used in many different games on Glow Day.

Have you done a glow day classroom transformation? It’s definitely not as scary as it sounds. There are many fun games you can play that won’t cost you any money. Simple supplies like glow sticks and tape can be used at many stations. You probably have some old games at home that can be used for your celebration. Check out these glow day classroom games below. Ball Toss
Materials: Neon Cups, Ping Pong Balls, Glow in the Dark Tape
Set Up Tips:
- Tape the cups to the floor or table to secure them.
- Use a basket to store balls for easy clean up.
- Set up near a wall so students have a back-board.
- Use tape on the floor to mark where students should stand to toss.
Cup Stacking
Materials: Neon Cups
Set Up Tips:
- Allow plenty of space for this!
- The cups may get loud, so you may want to sit this station on something soft, or away from others.
- Decide how you want your students to stack the cups and share that expectation.
- In the picture, students were creating their own creation using the cups provided.
Connect Four
Materials: Connect Four Game
Set Up Tips:
- Regular Game: Use Tape to make each game piece glow. You can also add tape to the sides of the game.
- Put the board on something soft so it won’t be loud when students reset the game. I used an anchor chart pad.
- Use baskets to store game pieces for easy clean up.
HopScotch using UV Tape
Materials: Glow in the Dark Tape
Set Up Tips:
- Tape the grid on your floor using Glow in the Dark Tape.
- If you have square tiles on your floor, use those to create your grid!
- Allow plenty of space for this game.
Jenga
Materials: Jenga Game
Set Up Tips:
- Regular Game: Use Tape to make each game piece glow (pictured above)
- Put the game on something soft so it won’t be loud when the game falls. I used an anchor chart pad.
- Use a basket to store game pieces for easy clean up.
Ring Toss
Materials: 3-4 Small Cones, Glow Necklaces, 2 Liter Bottles painted with Blacklight Paint (another option)
Set Up Tips:
- Tape the cones or bottles to the floor or table to secure them.
- Wait until the day of to break the glow necklaces.
- Use tape on the floor to mark where students should stand to toss.
Tic-Tac-Toe
Materials: Glow in the Dark Tape, Glow Bracelets (O’s), Glow Sticks (short and thick- for X’s)
Set Up Tips:
- Use Tape to create game boards
- Create several boards so students can play at the same time.
- Tape onto white paper for a better glow
- Use baskets to store X’s and O’s for easy clean up.
